Wow.. so I did get a new job, took a huge paycut, work a lot less hours, get to see my son a lot more...
and now I know why people don't like to work retail. Every job I ever had before was retail related.. I now work in a credit union. Even though I am making HALF of what I use to it was/ is well worth it

| Dear United States Public: |
[05 Nov 2008|11:03am] |
I am writing this in regards to the recent election that took place, I am not writing to give my opinion on which canidate was better but to shine light on a few political facts that I wish Americans would have taken the time to think about in order to make an informed choice.
I will input that in my opinion I was not a true fan of either canidate so this post is not intended to swing either way. I did vote for McCain not because of my preference for him but due to facts explained in more detail a bit below.
I have nothing in particular againts either canidate (or rather did since the choice has been made)
I have a few questions for everyone that I would like answered and I will explain my reasoning and the fact to go along with it.
Why did you vote for who you voted for?
Did you take into account actual issues or vote on age/race? Please be honest, there is no point in hiding that answer now.
Did you take the time to actually research who you voted for or did you follow a few "quick hitter" issues and not dig deeper?
Do you actually know anything about American History and how or government is supposed to function? If so please explain to me why if you did vote for Obama.
The one true political fact that made my choice for me, the actual fact behind my letter to you and my request for answers?
Our government was setup to give the power to the people, not to a particular party and not for the newly created government to control it's people but work their will.
Our government was setup with checks and balances yet more and more power is given to one branch of the supposed system (if you want actual proof of this please do a small amount of research there are a few things that congress use to be able to override from the president but that power was taken from them and given to the president)
We have now tilted that system even more towards one side.
The one last check left on the system that was seeming to uphold some of the original values our government was created around is gone.
We now have a one party rule so to speak. A now democratic majority congress ( yes both houses) and a democratic president.
While there is normally a check from one branch to another in place to keep policy from swinging one direction or the other due to party lines... we Americans have tossed this out the window.
While I wish more people would have taken the time and completed the research to know this... what is done is done.. and I still stand by the choice of the people because while I do not agree with it for the fact that it goes against the nature of how our government is setup.. we had the opportunity to make that choice.
I hope for the best and remain optimistic that the correct choice was made dispite the facts laied out here.
Thanks,
Me.

I really don't have much to say on a personal level any more. I just don't have the energy to complain about anything.
